Sharing The Burden - Home Page Image

Hello Stouffville!

Hello Stouffville this is Scott from sharing the burden and I want to tell you a little bit about what we’re doing at 102.9 FM radio station every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.

Hello Stouffville from whistle-102.9-fm

You see the word recovery and I want you to think about that a little bit. For one thing recovery does not spell drugs, sex, gambling etc etc. Rather recovery is the term used for anyone who recovers or is trying to recover or did recover or will recover from anything that ails them. Do any of you know anyone who has absolutely nothing to recover from, nothing to share about how he or she did recover from something, never had a problem, never hurt, never needed support; well I want to meet that person.

So recovery is a wide-open Avenue of support that I absolutely can do something to benefit either from or to. What I mean by that is that if you feel on a high which we all do once in awhile then you’ve got something to share with how you’ve survived this long. If on the other hand you’re hurting and don’t know who to tell. Well I have an answer for you, sharing the burden actually is simply that group of people who have found a way to communicate without fear and believe me that’s something unusual in this world. You know I don’t know how many have time to even read all these words that I’ve actually verbalized, hear I’m not even writing or typing, I’m just talking into this machine. But it needs to be said that words like recovery like mental illness etc. are not bad words.

Hello Stouffville – Get involved

We’ve got to be involved to make a difference. Please listen at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning on 102.9 FM right here in Stouffville. We will bring people who are in recovery fighting the relapse that is evident in so often. It happens in every sort of recovery program whether that be recovery from drugs and alcohol or simply recovery from a lonely person who feels like a misfit. Have you ever felt that way that you didn’t fit even just for a moment. Well these people come on the show and they come on and they come on because they know just like I do that we live in an imperfect world and we need each other to provide hope. If we don’t tell our stories to provide that hope, that is, we may not have someone to tell it to. That’s how serious Real Recovery is, I hope you can take part. Thank you if you took the time to read this because you are special! God bless – Scott Duncan
